Defining Azure Resources and BizDynamics Components

To deploy BizDynamics, you need to deploy and configure Azure Resources. Azure Resources build up functionality in Azure.

Azure Resources

The description of Azure components is given below.

Subscription ID

It is necessary to have Azure subscription before creating a database account to access a variety of Azure services. The subscriptions are identified by a Subscription ID provided by the Microsoft. You can get a Subscription ID with your Azure account.

Resource Group

Resource Group is a logical container of grouping all the resources used in it. Resource Group consists of Apps and plans to run an application used by a client or company department.

App Service Plan (Number of resources: 1, Size: Standard 1 small)

An App Service plan represents a set of features and capacity that you can share across multiple Apps. Web Apps, Function Apps, or API Apps, in Azure App Service run in an App Service plan. You can change your plans based on your usage.

Document DB (Number of resources: 1)

DocumentDB is NoSQL database that holds JSON data. DocumentDB provides rich and familiar SQL query capabilities with consistent low latencies on JSON data.

Storage/Containers & Blobs (Number of resources: 1)

Azure Storage is the cloud storage solution that can store Azure Storage services such as Blob (object) data, NoSQL table data, queue messages, and file shares.

SQL Database (Number of resources: 5, Size: S0)

Azure SQL Database, a cloud database service built for App developers, maintains all the backend data.

SQL database consists of the following:

  1. BizDynamics: This database stores project core tables and the information related to claims, policies, and FNOL (First Notice of Loss). The user tables and notification tables are migrated into DealFoundry database.
  2. Distribution Center (Number of resources: 5): This database stores information related to product, recommendations, policies, and coverages.
  3. Experience Studio: This database stores the core tables that generate the product quote.
  4. WorkLoad: This database stores all tables related to quoting, user profile, and notifications.
  5. iFoundry: This database stores all the tables related to rating engine.
  6. Unified Config Tool (UCT): UCT tables consolidate all BizDynamics apps in a single place.

API Apps (Number of resources: 5)

Business layer communicates with user interface and backend with API apps.

The API apps and their functionalities are listed below.

  1. Distribution Center (Number of resources: 5): It facilitates functions related to coverages and product.
  2. BizDynamics: It is a Quoting application that enables the user to perform functions related to Accounts, Quotes, Policies.
  3. Notification: It enables the user to send notifications across multiple channels such as SMS, Email, WEB (Push Notifications), APP and Social Media (Facebook and Twitter).
  4. Collaboration (NodeJS): It enables the user to perform functions related to chat such as Context Aware chat, Group chat, Notes, Diaries, Reminders, Follow-ups, and Attachments.
  5. Identity Server: It is a configuration tool, which helps to integrate and configure the application with any Identity Provider. It facilitates creation of users and assigning access permissions.

Web Apps (Number of resources: 9)

Web apps are UI apps published in Azure. Web apps and their functionalities are listed below:

  1. Agent Portal: Provides login for agents to create quotes on behalf of customers and to check claims and quote status.
  2. Customer Portal: Provides login for customers to manage quotes and their policies.
  3. BizDynamics Portal: Provides login for users such as Agents, Underwriters, Customers. It also enables these users to get covered for their risks by providing coverage recommendations.
  4. Experience Studio: This is an online tool that enables users to build UI to capture quotes. It also publishes configured quotes.
  5. Distribution Center: Facilitates prospect/customer to get coverage recommendations.
  6. DocuSign: Allows the customer to send his approval to the agent through Electronic signature. The customer receives an email along with URL for acceptance of the proposal from the agent. The customer can navigate to the portal through the URL to sign and accept the proposal sent by the agent. Once the customer accepts the proposal, email and notification are triggered to the agent.
  7. FNOL: Provides first level information about a claim.
  8. WorkLoad: Allows you to create a quote driven by iFoundry. You can perform functions related to profile management, agents, customers, and users.
  9. Underwriter Portal: Provides login for underwriters to check high-level quotes or referral quotes.
  10. Admin: Allows the administrator to define users, roles, applications, application groups, and messages and assign access permissions on specific functions to the users.

Logic Apps (Number of resources: 2)

These Apps use third party providers to send Email/SMS to the desired people and are listed below:

  1. Send Email (Number of resources: 1)
  2. Send SMS (Number of resources: 1)

Virtual Machine (Number of resources: 1)

This is a server created in cloud to deploy iFoundry services (Rating engine).
